The Event at Riccardo Grassi Showrrom

​In September 2024, alongside Milan Fashion Week, Métier Tropical launched a special pop-up as a guest of the Riccardo Grassi Showroom. This collaboration highlighted the showroom’s renowned talent for discovering emerging designers and brought together the curatorial eye of Métier Tropical, showcasing exceptional quality and creativity. Five Brazilian brands were handpicked for the pop-up, each representing the essence of contemporary Brazilian design with authenticity and flair.

The Art of Reinvention

Carlos Penna is a trailblazing accessories designer hailing from the culturally rich state
of Minas Gerais. Since establishing his brand in 2015, Penna has continuously pushed
the boundaries of what accessory design can be. His atelier, more akin to a creative
laboratory, thrives on innovation and the unusual. Whether crafting jewelry-art or
multifunctional accessories, Carlos Penna is always exploring new frontiers in
materiality and ergonomics. Known for his hands-on approach, each piece is personally
crafted and produced in his atelier in Ipatinga, where his attention to detail ensures that
no two pieces are alike.
Penna's work has found a loyal following across Brazil and internationally, with pieces
gracing the wardrobes of fashion-forward celebrities like Xuxa and Ludmilla, as well as
renowned personalities like Gilberto Gil. With two stores in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte
and representation at prestigious outlets such as the MASP store, Carlos Penna's
creations are covered by collectors and fashion aficionados alike. His designs are not
merely accessories; they are wearable works of art, imbued with his relentless curiosity

Handred, founded by the prodigious André Namitala when he was just 19, is the

Direction at London College of Fashion, Joao launched his eponymous brand in 2020,

semi-finalist for the LVMH Prize and has been recognized with multiple awards for his

craftsmanship in every piece. At its core, Misci thrives on blending Brazilian essence with
modern design practices, crafting clothing, accessories, and furniture that reflect the
richness of the country's diverse identity.
The brand's dedication to innovation is evident in its intricate design processes, where
elements like asymmetrical cuts and meticulous tailoring meet with bold material
choices. Misci's designs are more than fashion—they are a celebration of Brazil's
continental context, emphasizing the relationship between form, function, and cultural
resonance. With a growing international presence, Misci has already gained recognition,
having dressed global celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and K-pop star Baekhyun.
